Isabelle Courville joined the Emera Board of Directors in September 2025.
Isabelle has more than two decades of experience in the energy and telecommunications sectors. She previously served as President of Hydro‐Québec Distribution and Hydro‑Québec TransÉnergie. She also held various executive roles at Bell Canada, including President of Bell Canada's Enterprise Group and President and Chief Executive Officer of Bell Nordiq.
Isabelle has extensive experience as a board director in both public and private companies and across a variety of sectors. She is Chair of the Board of Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC)—the first woman to chair the board of a Class 1 railway in North America. Prior to becoming Chair of the Board of CPKC, she chaired its Audit and Finance Committee as well as its Management Resources and Compensation Committee. She was the Chair of the Board of Laurentian Bank from 2013 until 2019 and served on the Board of Directors of SNC-Lavalin Group Inc., Gecina S.A., a France-based real estate investment trust, and Miranda Technologies, a world-leading provider of hardware and software solutions for the television broadcast, cable, satellite and IPTV industry.
In addition to CPKC, Isabelle is currently a member of the Board of Veolia Environment S.A., a French transnational company with activities in three main service and utility areas traditionally managed by public authorities—water management, waste management and energy services. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Governance of Private and Public Organizations.
Isabelle holds a degree in Engineering Physics from the École Polytechnique de Montréal and holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Law from McGill University. In 2021, she received the Institute of Corporate Directors' Fellowship Designation.
