2025 Scholarship Recipients
Emera Chris Huskilson Scholarship Recipient – Wyatt Boyd

Wyatt is a graduate of Middleton Regional High School in Annapolis County, Nova Scotia. He is the recipient of the 2025 Chris Huskilson Scholarship, which is awarded to an Atlantic Canadian grade 12 student enrolled in an Atlantic Canadian University to study in science, technology, engineering, entrepreneurship and mathematics. This four-year scholarship also offers an opportunity to work at Emera Inc. for a paid 12-week internship. In September 2025, Wyatt will begin his studies at Dalhousie University in the Bachelor of Engineering program.
“With this scholarship, it gives me the opportunity to focus more on my studies and less on the financial burden that comes with university. I hope to use my engineering degree to work in sustainable development and make a difference in the world.”
Emera Employees' Children Scholarship Recipient- Abby Patten

Abby is a graduate of Halifax West High School in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She received the 2025 Emera Employees’ Children Scholarship, which is awarded each year to a child of an Emera employee. Abby’s mother, Mary, is a member of Emera’s Corporate Tax team. This fall, Abby will begin her studies in the Bachelor of Commerce program at Saint Mary’s, where she will also play on the women’s varsity soccer team.
