We sponsor in-person and online learning and offer a wide range of courses and workshops through our internal e-learning program. We also support and encourage career growth at all levels of the business through advancement across Emera and our operating companies.

Through our community investment program, we're helping to build stronger, safer and more innovative communities that are diverse, equitable and inclusive. Through our Good Neighbour Programs across Emera, we give our team members access to fundraising-matching and charitable donations in exchange for each hour volunteered in our communities. We also offer annual scholarships and bursaries in our communities and for employees' children each year.

Emera Place, our head office in downtown Halifax, is a working demonstration of our strategy-in-action when it comes to cleaner energy, innovation and collaboration. It meets world-class sustainable building standards and offers plenty of bright, open spaces that are perfect for collaborative discussion. Emera Place boasts leading innovative technology, including a rooftop solar array with smart inverters, integrated with a battery storage solution.

Safe and Healthy

Safety is our top priority and a core component of our corporate culture.

We work to ensure our team members feel empowered to speak-up when they see potentially unsafe conditions or behaviours. We're all responsible for preserving the safety, health and wellness of others. We offer a wide range of services, programs and incentives to support this commitment. From organizing quarterly health challenges and offering annual health screenings to our free, onsite fitness centre, we support our team in taking charge of their safety and well-being.

Fostering Future Leaders

We're proud to offer hands-on work experience to post-secondary students.

We facilitate summer placements, as well as co-op and internship opportunities with Emera and our operating companies. We provide opportunities in the areas of IT, Engineering, Finance & Accounting, Audit Services, Enterprise Risk, Investor Relations, Legal and Communications. The number of placements we offer has grown considerably over the years. Currently, we provide more than 140 student employment opportunities across Emera each year.
