We do this in a number of ways including formal education, work experiences and mentorship opportunities. We sponsor in-class and online learning and offer a wide range of courses through our internal e-learning program. We also support and encourage career growth through advancement across Emera and our operating companies.

We also provide a Good Neighbour Program that gives our team members access  to fundraising-matching and charitable donations for volunteered time. We offer annual scholarships for employees' children and meaningful opportunities to volunteer with community organizations.

Emera Place, our head office in downtown Halifax, is a working demonstration of our strategy-in-action when it comes to cleaner energy, innovation, collaboration, sustainability, safety and health.

Emera Place meets world-class sustainable building standards and boasts leading innovative technology, including a rooftop solar array with smart inverters, integrated with a battery storage solution.

Our team can also take advantage of our free, onsite fitness centre, open 24-hours a day. And we also offer quarterly health challenges, annual health screenings, flu shots and a host of other services and programs to help keep our team safe and healthy.

Fostering Future Leaders

We provide opportunities in the areas of IT, Engineering, Finance & Accounting, Audit Services, Enterprise Risk, Investor Relations, Legal and Communications.

In the last five years, we have more than tripled the number of students we hire across the business, offering more than 125 student employment opportunities each year.
