Helen Wesley became President of Peoples Gas in December 2021 and was appointed CEO in January 2023.

Helen leads a diverse team that's responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to more than 470,000 homes and businesses across Florida. 

With a keen focus on the state’s clean energy future, Helen is positioning Peoples Gas as a leader in sustainable energy solutions through investments in emerging fuels such as renewable natural gas.

Helen joined Peoples Gas in 2020 as Chief Operating Officer. Her areas of responsibility included Engineering and Operations, Marketing and Sales, as well as Business Development. 

Her more than 30 years’ experience in the energy industry has spanned both regulated and unregulated generation, transmission and distribution; upstream and downstream oil and gas; commodity chemicals; and pipelines. She has worked throughout North America and internationally in a variety of senior strategic and operational leadership positions. 

Prior to joining Peoples Gas, Helen was Chief Financial Officer for ENMAX Corporation where she previously served as Executive Vice President of Finance and Information Technology. Since 2013, Helen has been a Director of Enerflex, an international gas processing company based in Calgary.

Helen is committed to giving back to her community, most recently as a member of the Board of Directors of Hospice Calgary. She participates in the Tampa Bay Partnership and  serves as a Director for the Southern Gas Association.

A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Helen earned her Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the University of Calgary, and her Master of Business Administration in International Business from Boston’s Bentley College. She also received her ICD.D Designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
