Bruce Marchand

Chief Risk & Sustainability Officer, Emera Inc.

After a rewarding career in private practice, Bruce joined Emera as Chief Legal Officer in 2012. His role was expanded in 2014 when he was named Chief Legal & Compliance Officer. 

In July 2022, Bruce was appointed Chief Risk & Sustainability Officer. In this new role, he maintains accountability for Risk and Compliance and adds executive responsibility for Emera-wide Sustainability.

Bruce has been involved in a number of local charitable boards and fundraising initiatives, including the Canadian Cancer Society, Junior Achievement, the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia, the United Way, March of Dimes and the QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation.

Bruce earned a degree in economics from Acadia University and is a graduate of the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. He is a long-standing member of the Nova Scotia Barristers Society and the Canadian Bar Association.
