Peter Gregg is Executive Vice President, Strategy and Policy, as of March 2026.
Prior to his current role, Peter served as President & CEO of Nova Scotia Power from 2020-2026. As the President & CEO of one of Emera’s operating companies, Peter was also a member of Emera’s executive leadership team, where he also oversaw Sustainability & Environment initiatives across Emera’s portfolio.
During his time at Nova Scotia Power, Peter focused on the company’s ability to deliver safe, reliable electricity while positioning the organization for Nova Scotia’s energy transition. Peter drove progress toward Nova Scotia’s 2030 emissions reduction goals by strengthening the smart grid, expanding renewable generation, investing in large-scale battery storage, and reinforcing environmental management across the organization.
He also provided steady leadership during increasingly severe weather, including overseeing Nova Scotia Power’s preparation and restoration efforts during Hurricane Fiona in 2022.
Peter is an experienced leader in Canada’s energy sector. Before joining Nova Scotia Power, he served as President and CEO of the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), overseeing Ontario’s bulk electricity system. He was previously President and CEO of Enersource, where he helped merge four major Ontario utilities to form Alectra Inc., one of North America’s largest municipally owned utilities. Peter also served as COO of Hydro One Networks, leading transmission and distribution operations across Ontario.
He holds an MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University and the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
