Lucelec

St. Lucia Electricity Services Ltd. (Lucelec) serves more than 50,000 customers on the island of St. Lucia in the Caribbean. It is a vertically integrated electric utility with exclusive license to generate, transmit and distribute electricity on the island until 2045.

Through its ownership of Light and Power Holdings Ltd. (LPH) Emera owns 19.1% of Lucelec, which includes 77 MW of generating capacity and 800 kilometres of electricity transmission and distribution assets.

As a cost of service utility, Lucelec has a minimum rate of return of 10% on a 50% equity base. Lucelec employs approximately 240 people.
