Emera Inc. Announces Change to Board of Directors of Nova Scotia Power – December 1, 2008
Today Emera announced plans for the transition of the Chair of the Board of Directors of Nova Scotia Power Inc. (NSPI). George Caines, a partner in the Halifax office of Stewart McKelvey, will assume the position of Chair of the Board of Directors of NSPI, effective May 6, 2009. Mr. Caines will take over from John McLennan, who will be appointed to replace Derek Oland as Chair of the Board of NSPI's parent company, Emera Inc.

The Board of Emera Inc. today announced plans for the transition of the Chair of the Board of Directors. Derek Oland has announced he will step down as Chair of the Board effective May 6, 2009, the date of the Company’s Annual General Meeting. John McLennan, currently Chair, Nova Scotia Power Inc., will take over as Chair of Emera on the same day.

Emera Reports Q3 2008 Earnings – November 7, 2008
Emera Inc.'s consolidated net earnings were $6.5 million in Q3 2008, compared to $40.9 million for the same period in 2007. Earnings per share were $0.05 in the quarter compared to $0.37 in 2007. Two significant accounting adjustments negatively impacted earnings in the quarter. Excluding these accounting adjustments, earnings per share would have been $0.22. Mark-to-market accounting losses in BearSwamp reduced earnings per share by $0.07 in the quarter. As well, the valuation of a long-term receivable in Nova Scotia Power decreased in the quarter causing a further $0.10 reduction in earnings per share.

Emera Increases Annual Dividend - October 20, 2008
The Board of Directors of Emera Inc. today approved an increase in the annual common share dividend rate to $1.01 from $0.95 per common share. The first quarterly dividend payment, of $0.2525 per common share, is payable on and after November 17, 2008 to common shareholders of record at the close of business on November 3, 2008.

Fuel adjustment will be 8.1%; overall increase will be 11.9% - May 27, 2008 Volatile world prices for coal, oil and natural gas have forced Nova Scotia Power to seek an increase in electricity prices effective January 1, 2009. Rates have not changed since April 2007 and will remain frozen through the end of 2008.
