Closing Arguments Regarding Fuel Adjustment Mechanism – November 13, 2007
Closing arguments will be presented today to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board regarding an agreement between Nova Scotia Power and several stakeholders regarding implementation of a Fuel Adjustment Mechanism (FAM). The following stakeholders are party to the agreement: Stora Enso Port Hawkesbury, Bowater Mersey Paper Company, the Municipal Electric Utilities Co-operative of Nova Scotia, Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters, and several major employers in the province known before the UARB as Avon Valley et al.

Emera Q3 Earnings Increase to $40.9 million – November 2, 2007
Emera Inc.’s consolidated net earnings increased to $40.9 million in the third quarter of 2007 compared to $19.5 million in Q3, 2006. The increase in the quarter was largely due to a $10.8 million income tax recovery in Nova Scotia Power Inc. (NSPI). Earnings per share were $0.37 in Q3 2007 compared to $0.18 in the same period last year. Strong results year to date are driven by solid performance from Bangor Hydro-Electric (BHE) and the Bear Swamp hydro-electric generating station.

Brunswick Pipeline Partners with Louisbourg Pipelines Construction contractor selected for proposed natural gas pipeline – April 30, 2007
Brunswick Pipeline announced today it has awarded a conditional contract to Louisbourg Pipelines to construct the proposed 145-km natural gas pipeline from the Canaport LNG terminal to connect with the Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline near St. Stephen, New Brunswick . The project is subject to approval by the National Energy Board (NEB).

Emera Earns $39.7 Million in Q1 2007 – April 27, 2007
Emera Inc.’s consolidated net earnings were $39.7 million in Q1 2007, compared to $43.6 million for the same period in 2006. Earnings were $11.3 million lower quarter over quarter at Nova Scotia Power, but higher across the rest of Emera’s investment portfolio. Earnings per share were $0.36 in Q1, 2007, compared to $0.40 in the prior year.

Emera Energy to Manage One of Canada’s Largest Combined-Cycle Generation Facilities – April 23, 2007
Emera Energy Inc. (EE) will be managing one of Canada’s largest combined cycle gas-fired electricity generating facilities. The new Greenfield Energy Centre, a 1,005 MW facility located near Sarnia Ontario is expected to be in test operations this summer. EE will act as agent for the facility, managing approximately 140,000 mmbtu/day of natural gas purchases and associated power sales. Emera Energy is a wholly owned subsidiary of Emera Inc. (TSX:EMA).

Emera’s 2006 Earnings Increase to $125.8 Million Operating Cash Flow Doubles to $345.6 Million – February 16, 2007
Emera Inc.’s consolidated net earnings increased 4% to $125.8 million in 2006, compared to $121.2 million in 2005. Annual earnings per share were $1.14 compared to $1.11 in 2005. In 2005, a portion of income and other taxes, which would have otherwise been expensed, were deferred, pending regulatory approval of new rates. Without that deferral, 2005 comparative earnings would have been $16.7 million lower.
