Emera approves quarterly dividend

    HALIFAX, April 4 /CNW/ - On April 4, 2008 the Board of Directors of Emera
Inc. approved a quarterly dividend of $0.2375 per common share. The dividend
is payable on and after May 15, 2008 to common shareholders of record at the
close of business on May 1, 2008.
    Pursuant to the Income Tax Act (Canada) and corresponding provincial
legislation, Emera Inc. hereby notifies its common shareholders that such
dividend declared qualifies as an eligible dividend.
