Emera Increases Annual Dividend

HALIFAX , Nova Scotia , July 6, 2007 (EMA-TSX):

On July 6, 2007 the Board of Directors of Emera Inc. increased its quarterly dividend to $0.2275 per common share, reflecting an increase on an annualized basis to $0.91 from $0.89. The dividend is payable on and after August 15, 2007 to common shareholders of record at the close of business on August 1, 2007.

Pursuant to the Income Tax Act ( Canada ) and corresponding provincial legislation, Emera Inc. hereby notifies its common shareholders that such dividend declared qualifies as an eligible dividend.
