Emera Approves Quarterly Dividend – October 7, 2005

Halifax, NS October 7, 2005 (TSX: EMA): The Board of Directors of Emera Inc. approved a quarterly dividend of $0.2225 per common share. The dividend is payable on and after November 15, 2005 to common shareholders of record at the close of business on November 1, 2005.
