More Potential for Tidal Energy

With the only tidal power plant in the western hemisphere, Nova Scotia Power Inc. has long been a leader in tidal energy development. In 2008, Nova Scotia Power selected OpenHydro's Open-Centre Turbine technology for deployment in a tidal energy demonstration project in the Bay of Fundy. The turbine will be deployed in late 2009, and will be tested for one to two years, along with two other in-stream turbine technologies selected by the Province of Nova Scotia.
