Five Times the Wind Power

Nova Scotia Power Inc. customers want more energy from renewable sources, and NSPI is responding. They have a plan in place that will quintuple wind energy production in Nova Scotia. The first step is complete – they have signed contracts with independent power producers for 246 MW of new wind power, enough to power almost 60,000 homes. These contracts represent $500 million in capital investment and will be key to delivering long-term, fixed price green generation.

Nova Scotia Power Inc. has 160 turbines now in operation that produce as much as 20% of our electricity.
