Emera Helps Grant More Children’s Wishes

More special wishes than ever will be granted to children with high risk, life threatening illnesses thanks to Emera’s $300,000 donation over three years to The Children’s Wish Foundation. As the single largest corporate donation ever received by the Nova Scotia Chapter, Emera and its employees are proud that they can contribute to fulfilling the dreams of so many courageous kids.

In Exile for a Good Cause

Team Captain Rick Janega and a team of Emera and Nova Scotia Power employees headed off to Exile Island – George’s Island in the Halifax Harbour – in support of the Children’s Wish Foundation. The team spent the day hoping for rescue while other employees, the friends of Emera and its subsidiaries valiantly raised $49,000 to get them off the island safely. The event, co-chaired by Emera’s President and CEO Chris Huskilson, raised more than $400,000 helping to grant 40 children’s wishes.
